We would like to inform you about the collection and use of your personal data in accordance with our legal obligation.
General
When you use our website, personal information about you is collected. This can be done by entering the data yourself – such as: B. Your email address. Our system also collects data from you automatically, such as your visit to our website. This happens regardless of which device or software you use our website.
Any entry of data by you on our website is voluntary; there will be no disadvantages for you if you do not disclose your data. However, without certain data it is not possible for us to provide services or conclude contracts. We will inform you of such mandatory information.
On this website, the user’s personal data is only collected within the framework of applicable data protection law, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The technical terms used in the text are explained in more detail in Article 4 of the GDPR.
According to the GDPR, data processing is permitted in three cases in particular:
in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a and 7 GDPR, if you have consented to us processing your data; In each case, we will inform you in advance in this data protection declaration and when you give your consent in accordance with Article 4 No. 11 GDPR exactly why and under what circumstances your data will be processed by us;
in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR, if the processing of your personal data is necessary for the initiation, conclusion or execution of a contractual relationship;
in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter f of the GDPR if, after balancing interests, processing is necessary to protect our legitimate interests; This includes, in particular, our interests in analyzing, optimizing and securing the offerings on our website – this includes, in particular, an analysis of user behavior, the creation of profiles for advertising purposes and the storage of access data as well as the use of third-party providers.
Inventory data, usage data and advertising
Inventory data
We collect inventory data (e.g. name, address and email address, any services used) to the extent that it is necessary to establish, structure or change a contractual relationship between us and the user.
Usage Data
We also collect usage data (e.g. visits to the website, interest in products) in order to enable and bill the user for the use of the services on our website.
We will only combine usage data if and to the extent this is necessary for billing purposes. Otherwise, we will only create usage data pseudonymously and only if you have not objected to this. You can send this objection at any time to the address given in the legal notice or to the person responsible named in this data protection declaration.
The legal basis for this data processing is, on the one hand, our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Letter b GDPR.
Every time you use this website, our provider also stores information, the so-called server log files, which are automatically transmitted by your browser. These are:
Your IP address
Type and version of your browser
hostname
Time of visit
the page from which you visited our site,
name of the page accessed,
exact time of call as well as
the amount of data transferred.
This data is only used for statistical purposes and does not allow us to identify you as a user.
Advertising
Before sending advertising, we will ask you for your explicit consent in accordance with Article 4 No. 11 GDPR, unless it concerns advertising for similar products that you have already purchased. This occurs in particular if you give us your consent to send us our newsletter or fill out a contact form.
Consent
If we ask you for your consent to process your data, we will inform you in clear language and in an easily accessible manner about the cases for which you give your consent. Any consent we ask for is voluntary; any benefit you would like to obtain by granting consent can also be obtained without consent, just ask us.
For any consent, you have the right to withdraw any consent you have given us to process your personal data at any time. This can be done through an informal message, e.g. B. via our contact form, an email to the email address given in the imprint or an unsubscribe link (if offered by us). Your revocation does not affect the lawfulness of the data processing carried out up to that point.
Storage period
In principle, your data will only be stored for as long as required by the purpose of the respective data processing. Further storage is particularly possible if this is still necessary for legal prosecution by us or for our other legitimate interests or if we are required by law to keep your data (e.g. within the framework of tax retention periods, which are generally 6 or even 10 years).
Cookies
As part of our legitimate interest in a technically flawless online offering and its economically efficient design and optimization in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit.f GDPR, our website uses cookies so that our offering can be used better, more effectively and more securely. Cookies are text files that are stored on your computer and store certain data about your user behavior on our site so that an offer can be made that corresponds to your previous use. These can be so-called “session cookies” which are automatically deleted at the end of your visit to our website. But there are also cookies that are permanently stored on your computer unless you delete them. It is then possible for us to recognize your browser the next time you visit our website and to make you offers that correspond to your previous use of our website.
Your browser allows you to prevent the use of cookies completely or in individual cases. Please refer to the operating instructions for your browser for more information. Blocking cookies may limit the functionality of our website and other websites you visit.
You can permanently prevent the storage of cookies in your browser by downloading and installing the plug-in linked below. You can find further information here.
You can also prevent the use of cookies by third parties by declaring your opt-out on the Network Advertising Initiative deactivation page in accordance with the instructions there. You can find further information here. You can find a similar offer on this US website and on this European service.
Transfer to third parties
We don’t like spam any more than you do. We will therefore not pass on your data to third parties unless this is permitted by law.
Your data can be passed on either:
necessary for the fulfillment of a contract and then permitted according to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR or
be permitted on the basis of our legitimate interest in effective service design in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR,
be covered by your consent or
become necessary if we are legally required by a state or an authority to release your data in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter c of the GDPR.
If your data is passed on to third parties, this is listed in this data protection declaration.
Distribution abroad, especially in the USA
Our website uses external providers based outside the EU for various functions. In particular, cookies, active Java scripts and other technologies may result in your data being processed and stored outside the EU. However, we will not pass on your data to a third country unless the EU Commission has determined that data protection is comparable to that in the EU or you have given us your informed consent or we have agreed the standard contractual clauses with the provider to protect your data. For the USA there is an agreement with the Privacy Shield
see https://www.privacyshield.gov/welcome
Under certain conditions, sufficient data protection was again established. For more information about your rights regarding any transfer of data to the USA mentioned below, please see

You can request that we correct (including by supplementing) incorrect data at any time, as well as restricting its processing or deleting your data. This applies in particular if the purpose of processing has expired, the necessary consent has been revoked and there is no other legal basis or our data processing is unlawful. We will then immediately correct, block or even delete your personal data within the legal framework.
Contradiction
Our text on consent applies to the right to object when receiving advertising:
You have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time. Contact form
If you fill out a contact form or send us an email or other electronic message, your details will be stored for processing the request, possible follow-up questions or other related questions and will only be used as part of the request.
The entry of your data is encrypted, meaning that third parties cannot read your data when you enter it.
The basis for this storage is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR, which you give us by filling out the contact form or your other request. You can revoke this consent at any time by sending us an informal message (e.g. via contact form or email). This revocation remains unaffected by the lawfulness of the data processing carried out up to that point.
Your data will remain stored as long as it is necessary to process the request, in particular the storage is still necessary for the fulfillment/processing of the contract, for legal prosecution by us or for our other legitimate interests, or we are required by law to still retain your data (e.g . within the framework of tax retention periods).

The basis for this storage is the processing of data for the purpose of contract processing in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter b GDPR and your consent in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a GDPR, which you give us when you register. You can revoke this consent at any time by sending us an informal message (e.g. via unsubscribe link, contact form or email). This revocation remains unaffected by the lawfulness of the data processing carried out up to that point.
Your data will remain stored as long as you are registered on our website, the storage is still necessary for the fulfillment/processing of the contract, for legal prosecution by us or for our other legitimate interests or we are required by law to keep your data (e.g. for tax purposes retention periods).
Social media
General information
Social media plugins usually mean that every visitor to a page is immediately recorded by these services with their IP address and their further browser behavior is logged. This can happen even if you don’t press the button.
To prevent this, we use the Shariff method. Our social media buttons only establish direct contact between the social network and you when you click on the respective share button. If you are already logged in to a social network, you will be logged in to Facebook and Google+ without another window. On Twitter, a pop-up window appears in which you can edit the text of the tweet.
This allows you to publish our content on social networks without them being able to create complete surfing profiles. The Shariff method is already used by many websites to protect their users.
Meta (Facebook/Instagram)
As part of our legitimate interest in a technically flawless online offering and its economically efficient design and optimization in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit.f GDPR, we use plugins from the social network of Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA. Using the Shariff method, Facebook only learns about your IP address and your visit to our website once you have pressed the button. If you activate the plugin while you are logged in to Facebook at the same time, Facebook can assign your use to your user account.
We have no knowledge of and no influence on the possible collection and use of your data by Facebook. For more information, see Facebook’s privacy policy at
http://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php
We also refer you to our general information in this data protection declaration for the general handling and deactivation of cookies.
X (formerly Twitter)
As part of our legitimate interest in a technically flawless online offering and its economically efficient design and optimization in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit.f GDPR, we use plugins from the social network of Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom Street, Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Using the Shariff method, Twitter only learns about your IP address and your visit to our website once you have pressed the re-tweet button.
We have no knowledge of and no influence on the possible collection and use of your data by Twitter. If necessary, you can find further information in Google’s privacy policy at

This revocation remains unaffected by the lawfulness of the data processing carried out up to that point.
Since we are legally required to record your consent as part of the so-called double opt-in, your order for the newsletter, the sending of our consent email and your consent by clicking on the link will be logged and saved by location and time as well as with your IP address.
To send the newsletter, we use the provider Klaviyo – 125 Summer St Floor 6 Boston, MA 02111, United States (as part of our legitimate interest in technically flawless processing of our customer information and analysis).
For information on how our newsletter provider handles your data, we refer to the data protection declaration of our newsletter provider. Our newsletter provider will only use your data to send the newsletter and evaluate this delivery on our behalf. Furthermore, our newsletter provider will only use your data to improve its own service. However, our newsletter provider will not use the data to write to you itself or pass your data on to third parties.
The data used by our newsletter provider contains a “web beacon” that sends the opening of the newsletter and/or the activation of a link contained therein by you to our newsletter provider. Information about your browser, your location and your IP address is transmitted to our newsletter provider. This information is used to optimize our approach to you.
Our newsletter provider also uses this data, but only in pseudonymous form (i.e. without allowing you to be identified) to analyze and optimize its own service. However, under no circumstances will your data be used to write to you.

The data collected by Google is transmitted by Google to countries outside the EU, in particular the USA. Google is subject to the Privacy Shield Framework; further information about your rights can be found at
http://ec.europa.eu/justice/data-protection/document/citizens-guide_en.pdf

Facebook reach measurement
We use the Facebook pixel to evaluate the success of our advertising measures on Facebook. The Facebook Pixel is a range measurement service from Facebook Inc. that we use on this website as part of our legitimate interest in a technically flawless online offering and its economically efficient design and optimization in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit.f GDPR. 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA.
The technology implemented by the Facebook pixel allows us to measure the reach and the resulting sales (so-called conversions) of our ads on Facebook and thus improve our advertising approach. We can also target users who have already been to our website more specifically with advertising on Facebook. We can also use the data to create so-called custom audiences. Here, Facebook evaluates data from users of our website in order to identify people with similar interests.
The Facebook Pixel stores a cookie on your computer that allows Facebook to recognize that you have visited our website when you are logged in to Facebook or log in again. The data is anonymized for us and we cannot assign it to you. The data is transmitted to the USA and stored on Facebook. Facebook has submitted to the Privacy Shield Framework; further information about your rights can be found at
http://ec.europa.eu/justice/data-protection/document/citizens-guide_en.pdf
Facebook allows you to connect to your respective user profile. Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook data usage policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/ ).
Facebook offers you various settings for the remarketing function and custom audiences, which you can access here if you are logged in to Facebook. Without a Facebook account, you can also make settings at the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance and prevent you from being targeted with advertising.
You can prevent the Facebook pixel from running on our website and the storage of cookies on your computer if you click on our opt-out link for all cookies when you access the website. This means that an opt-out cookie is stored on your computer, which prevents Facebook from storing the cookie. If you then delete cookies in your browser, you will have to install it again. Please also note that the opt-out cookie only applies to the browser you are using and only to our website.

Data protection notice on the use of ChatGPT and our analysis model
We attach great importance to protecting your personal data and maintaining your privacy. To provide you with a personalized experience in our app, we use the services of ChatGPT, an advanced AI-driven technology developed by OpenAI, as well as our own analytics model. These technologies are particularly used in the creation of your personal Ikigai diagram, which is generated based on your answers to specific questions.
How we use ChatGPT and our analytics model:
Data entry: When you answer questions within our app, those answers are both submitted to ChatGPT and processed through our own analytics model
Data processing: ChatGPT in combination with our analysis model analyzes your answers in order to then generate an individual result. This process is automatic and is subject to OpenAI’s privacy policy [https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy] and our internal data protection standards.
Data storage: We store the specific content of your answers to provide you with ongoing access to them in the Ikigami app.
Data protection guarantees:
Anonymity: Your answers will be sent anonymously to ChatGPT and our analysis model, without including personal data (such as name, email address or location data).
Data security: We take all necessary technical and organizational measures to ensure and protect the security of your data.
Rights of those affected: You have the right to information, correction, deletion or restriction of processing of your data at any time. You also have the right to object to processing and the right to data portability.
Cookies and traffic reporting
We use “session cookies” from VG Wort, Munich, to measure access to texts in order to record the likelihood of copying. Session cookies are small pieces of information that a provider stores in the RAM of the visitor’s computer. A randomly generated unique identification number is stored in a session cookie, a so-called session ID. A cookie also contains information about its origin and the storage period. Session cookies cannot store any other data. These measurements are carried out by INFOnline GmbH using the Scalable Central Measurement Method (SZM). They help to determine the likelihood of individual texts being copied in order to compensate authors and publishers for legal claims. We do not collect any personal data via cookies.
Many of our pages are provided with JavaScript calls, which we use to report access to the collecting society Wort (VG Wort). We thereby enable our authors to participate in the distributions from VG Wort, which ensure legal remuneration for the use of copyrighted works in accordance with Section 53 of the Copyright Act.
A use of our offers is also possible without cookies. Most browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. However, you can deactivate the storage of cookies or set your browser to notify you when cookies are being sent.
You have the option of setting cookies on your computer or preventing them entirely. For this purpose, we refer to our general information on cookies at the top of this data protection declaration.
